Senior Associate, Heyne Tillett Steel
Laura leads HTS+, the dedicated in-house research and innovation team at Heyne Tillett Steel, which undertakes research, testing and development of new structural techniques and technologies, with a focus on sustainability. This includes the practical implementation of low carbon and circular structural design, researching sustainable materials, circular design and composite engineered timber. She is a chartered structural engineer, and prior to her current role was the project engineer on a range of projects including museums, schools and historic preservation projects in London, the USA and Nepal. Laura is committed to developing and strengthening knowledge to address the critical issues in our industry and bring about positive change within the built environment. She champions the circular economy and has spoken at leading industry events for LETI, NLA and BCO and authored guidance on reuse of concrete, embodied carbon targets and the challenges of timber design and construction.
