Marie Riordan

Head of Development, Stone Water

Marie is dedicated housing professional who has over 15 years experience working for social housing providers. Marie’s experience covers all types of affordable housing delivery, including highly sustainable developments and complex urban development and regeneration schemes. Marie is currently Head of Development at Stonewater responsible for the delivery of a development programme in the South East Region which covers Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and the BCP area of Dorset.

Marie is also a board member of a local housing association, driving forward the corporate strategy and ensuring that the organisation is meeting its aims and objectives.

Stonewater is a leading social housing provider managing 34,500 homes in England for over 76,000 customers, including affordable properties for general rent, shared ownership and sale, alongside specialist accommodation such as retirement and supported living schemes for older and vulnerable people, domestic abuse refuges, a dedicated LGBTQ+ Safe Space, and young people’s foyers.

Our development programme aims to build a minimum of 1,500 new homes a year from 2022/23 driven by our vision of everyone having the opportunity to have a place that they can call home. 

We are committed to providing homes that are energy efficient and are working towards carbon neutrality. Our Environment Strategy helps us minimise the resources we use as an organisation and manage our impact on the environment.
