Design Director for Climate Issue and Circular Economy, AKT II

Marta’s career has covered a diverse range of project sectors and clients, working for a number of consulting engineers both on the construction frontline and in design roles. Now as Design Director for Climate Issue and Circular Economy, Marta leads AKT II’s sustainability initiatives across our practices culture and in our project work. Marta’s portfolio experience is varied and as a Design Director, she has a great deal of influence over ensuring our projects are meeting both in house and government guidelines for achieving net-zero carbon on projects. Her design experience extends to a number of structures in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.


AKT II is a design-led, interdisciplinary engineering practice. The company was founded in 1996 (as Adams Kara Taylor), and today unites 350 staff, with 50 cultural backgrounds and 30 languages, who are together applying insight from the firm’s work throughout 50 countries. The team’s service to design is recognised with 350+ design awards including four RIBA Stirling Prize wins, while the practice has furthermore been named the New Civil Engineer 2017 Global Firm of the Year, the Building Awards 2019 Engineering Consultant of the Year and the Architizer A+ Awards 2021 Engineering Firm of the Year.
