Steve’s career has seen him working for some of the most innovative developers in the UK. Cutting his teeth at Urban Splash, delivering Chimney Pot Park in Salford, he then moved to London to deliver homes, student housing and infrastructure at Argent’s King’s Cross development. Steve was Managing Director of HUB, and was instrumental in its growth from a small developer with a couple of sites to a major player in regeneration development in the south east with some 3000 homes under development across 11 sites. Steve is now Founder and Director of investor Common Projects, and its subsidiary Common Development.
Having originally studied engineering at university, Steve has a keen understanding of design and sustainability, ensuring that good design and meaningful engagement is integral to every scheme that he delivers.
Common Projects funds and delivers complex and game-changing development projects. Drawing on decades of combined experience and a desire to champion positive change in development, we bring confidence and commitment to all our work.
Our approach is underpinned by research and analysis, and rooted in financial, technical and practical competence, but what drives us to deliver the kind of transformational development we are known for requires a Common Purpose. It could be the empowerment of a community, the delivery of homes for those most in need, the reversal of climate change, or helping an existing creative industry to go further. A Common Purpose puts people, place and the planet at the heart of everything we do.
