Campo Urbano Rome: Net Carbon Negative City District

C40 Cities are working with the City of Rome to revitalise an ex-industrial district. Campo Urbano aims to become carbon-negative over a 60-year timeframe exceeding LEED Zero in construction and operations.

The mixed-use district will meet its own energy demand through PVs and on-site biomass-based energy generating heating, cooling and electricity via pyro-gasification.
