Think Tank with Historic England
Re-using buildings is one of the most effective ways to reduce carbon emissions and eliminate unnecessary waste. By adapting our historic buildings we know we can also improve quality of life, wellbeing and nurture the skills needed for a green economy. We can collectively find creative and pragmatic ways to re-use our historic buildings and make them fit for the future.
For this Historic England Think Tank, Catherine Dewar Climate Change Programme Director, will be joined by Geoff Rich, Managing Partner, Fielden Clegg Bradley to share their experiences of working together on successfully converting historic buildings. Adala Leeson, Historic England’s Head of Socio-Economic Analysis and Evaluation will also discuss the role of economics in our approaches to the historic environment and how a move towards a circular economy, or as some commentators argue an entire paradigm shift, is required to address climate change.
Bring your questions and join us in a panel discussion about the positive contribution heritage can make to addressing climate change.
