We create considered, resilient places, through informed design.

Human activity defines sense of place, in the moment and over time. Places can enhance connection and interaction between people.

Our work, as designers, is interested in this relationship. We aim to create spaces which enrich our shared human experience.

We work across many different project types and our approach and process underpins it all. It is to listen to your needs, we seek to gain a deep understanding of the patterns of your use and to understand the opportunities of your site. For us, good design is the greater sum of all these parts.

This simple, informed design approach has enabled us to work effectively in many different areas:

  • Developing ground-breaking low-energy design solutions

  • Nurturing brand identities through design

  • Creating bespoke ‘Grand Design’ solutions for homes

  • Collaborating with communities in the creation of new places

  • Creating new products for international retail and hospitality clients

  • Evolving new Modern Methods of Construction, such as modular off-site construction

  • Forensic examination and methodical solutions for Grade 1 listed property

  • Strategic planning of larger rural sites and complex mixed-use urban locations

  • Evolving client property portfolios to suit market demands

What people are saying about FOOTPRINT+

What people are saying about FOOTPRINT+

  • FOOTPRINT+ is the place to showcase how we can build sustainable developments and reduce the carbon footprint of building projects. In tackling the climate crisis, these are the conversations we need to be having.
    Peter Kyle
MP for Hove, Shadow Minister for Justice
  • The vibe inside was actually electric. There were designers, council members, contractors, politicians, project managers, developers, insurers, communications specialists, academics, funders, all with the same goal, to share knowledge, and have conversations that can change things. The talks covered all bases; there was a hugely diverse line up of topics. The energy from the whole week, the adrenaline from speaking, and all of the new information whirring around in my head was exhausting. That sums up the whole conference nicely I think, education, unexpected conversations, new ideas, and sunflowers.
    Kelly Harrison
    Associate Director Whitby Wood
  • Despite the global impact of COVID-19 the UK property industry is resilient. FOOTPRINT will provide a forum for everyone to create a deliverable agenda for sustainable growth in the UK property market.
    Francis Hilton
    Pelican Developments
  • As we move to create the ‘new normal’ post Covid, we have an unprecedented opportunity to re-write the rules around our environmental impact on the planet, this conference does exactly that.
    Gavin Stewart
Executive Director Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership
  • The MIPIM of Sustainability
    Will Arnold
Head of Climate Action, The Institution of Structural Engineers
  • At last an event that addresses the key issues facing design, construction and development in the UK. The rich mix of consultants, clients, stakeholders and government together with the great location will make Footprint a huge success.
Paul Monaghan Director of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architects
Liverpool City Region Design Champion and founding member of Architects Declare
  • Coming to listen to the conferences then you're going to be overwhelmed with material. There are four theatres, there are think tanks and they will keep you going all day long
    Romi Rawlings
    Commercial Director - Vestre
  • The idea of the jobs fair on the last day is brilliant. It's exactly what school and university leavers need, and as a CDO, I realise that finding high calibre candidates to work for your organisation is a hugely time absorbing process.
    Adam Brockley
    Founder of Scape Student Living
  • FOOTPRINT is a hugely exciting opportunity to address the climate emergency which we all face as global citizens.
    James Blakey
    Planning Director Moda Living
  • FOOTPRINT+ 2022 has been a force for good, and I look forward to coming back next year
    Will Arnold
Head of Climate Action, The Institution of Structural Engineers
  • FOOTPRINT+ has been set up to answer a need in the property market. We have all traipsed off to the South of France previously to meet up and discuss property issues. This is no longer a responsible action given the carbon footprint of getting there. Combined with the exit of Britain from the EU, we, in the UK market need to meet and discuss our national and international concerns. FOOTPRINT+ is set up to permit us to do this in an accessible, affordable and responsible way
    William Edgerley
    Director Edge Ahead Limited
  • The climate emergency is the biggest challenge humanity is facing. At WSP we are proud to be the catalysts of change in our industry. Now, we all need to come together to re-invent the way we design, the way we build and the way live. Footprint+ will help us do this
    Diego Padilla Philipps
    Net Zero Lead Structures, WSP
  • Everyone has an open mind. The mix of points of view creates a live dialogue for learning that I've really enjoyed
    Mike Reynolds
    Managing Director - Vattenfall Heat
  • It's the face-to-face that's been brilliant. We've all got to get on board with this... and everyone has learnt something today
    Elaine Toogood
Director of Architecture and Sustainable Design - The Concrete Centre
  • This event, it has got a vibe so if you want to come down its a great place to talk to people, meet people and be inspired.
    Ayo Abbas
    Marketing Strategist, Abbs Marketing
  • Why should someone come here next year? Because this is the place to be
    Snigdha Jain
    Director of Sustainability - Turley
  • Given that what we are talking about here is so important to all of us and our kids and future generations, why wouldn't you come?
    Pete Swift

  • This exhibition is going to grow, the subject matter is the most key in our industry. If you are not here you will be left behind!
    Daniel Englender
    Managing Director, Benjamin West
  • We find that developments in carbon reduction for the property industry are moving so quickly that the atmosphere at the event is tangibly exciting. We had 194 of the finest minds in the business imparting their knowledge in the theatres and around the bar to over 1500 delegates, and we realised that there is nowhere else that this happens. None of it is yet published, televised or blogged. That’s what makes FOOTPRINT+ unique.
    Tim Pyne
    Creative Director FOOTPRINT+
