FOOTPRINT+ supporting circularity and biodiversity
Yesterday, Wood Store delivered recycled planter kits made of shuttering ply to Hortus Loci for our plant installation.
In 2022 National Wood Recycling of which Wood Store are members, rescued nearly 24,000 tonnes of timber and sheet material from the waste stream. They prove how easy it is to divert construction waste to make something valuable.
Internationally recognised and award-winning Natural Flower propagator Dave West will be planting wild flowers for FOOTPRINT+ this year:
“As someone who is passionate about native plants and promoting their wider use, this innovative display planting will use plants that can be found growing wild in the UK. FOOTPRINT+ will showcase some of the early R&D work that Hortus Loci and I are doing to develop native plants for urban planting.“
Like last year's sunflowers, they will be grown alongside the Chelsea Flower Show plants. It seems we are bang on trend since everyone is planting wild flowers for Chelsea too.
We have sized the trays so they will be easy to transport the plants to a permanent home after the show.
