Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?

At the heart of UKGBC’s mission is a deep commitment to collaboration and inspiration, which are embodied at FOOTPRINT+. This event is convergence of the UK’s property, planning, and sustainability sectors, highlighting the critical importance of unity in purpose. UKGBC’s vision for the built environment is to ignite the collective spirit of diverse organizations to work together towards a common goal, enabling people and the planet to flourish. What did you hear about / experience at our last year’s event which has made you want to come back?

Reflecting on the previous editions of FOOTPRINT+, the diversity of panel discussions, audience engagement, and the chance to exchange ideas with experts across various sectors were the highlights. The event's ability to draw on such a wealth of knowledge and foster thought-provoking conversations is commendable. It's this vibrant confluence of insights and shared commitment to sustainability that makes the UKGBC excited to return with greater number of speakers this year.

When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?

The UKGBC team will shed light on the embodied ecological impacts of construction materials, aiming to mitigate the environmental effects from material sourcing to disposal. We will be discussing how to enhance the accuracy of embodied carbon modelling, which is essential for ensuring that carbon reduction targets are truly being met. The UKGBC team will also talk about how to create connection between Whole Life Carbon Assessments and Scope 3 emissions reporting to provide a holistic view of our carbon footprint. Additionally, we will explore what it takes to successfully deliver net-zero focussed commercial retrofit projects. Together, these efforts represent our commitment to driving sustainable practices within the industry.

What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?
