Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?
In confronting the climate and biodiversity emergencies and striving to deliver a built environment that exists harmoniously within our planetary boundaries, our sector faces an immense challenge. Yet, within this challenge lies a profound opportunity—to forge a future where humanity and nature not only coexist but flourish together. However, this endeavour cannot be undertaken alone. It demands collective action and collaboration across the industry to chart a course toward sustainability and resilience. Events like FOOTPRINT+ serve as invaluable forums for fostering this collaboration, enabling the exchange of insights, the cultivation of partnerships, and the collective pursuit of transformative change.
What did you hear about / experience at our last year’s event which has made you want to come back?
I was not able to attend last year’s event, but I heard from colleagues that it was a great event to meet a wide range of people who were at the forefront of creating a more sustainable industry.
When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?
At FOOTPRINT+ 2024, my primary focus will be on championing the pivotal role of data in enabling a more sustainable, circular and regenerative built environment. I firmly believe that data holds the key to unlocking innovative solutions and informing informed decision-making processes across the industry.
I will be sharing insights into the power of data analytics, highlighting how leveraging data can lead to more efficient resource utilization, reduced waste generation, and enhanced environmental performance throughout the lifecycle of built assets. By harnessing data-driven approaches, we can optimize design, construction, operation, and end-of-life strategies, thereby fostering a built environment that is truly sustainable and regenerative.
I will be showcasing the role of Madaster in facilitating the efficient, transparent, and secure sharing of data pertaining to the materials and products within our built environment. Madaster's platform empowers stakeholders to comprehensively catalogue and manage material data, enabling better informed decision-making, promoting circularity, and driving innovation across the value chain
What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?
At the upcoming FOOTPRINT+ 2024, I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to immerse myself in a vibrant community of professionals dedicated to shaping a more sustainable built environment. My primary objective is to forge meaningful connections with new acquaintances and reconnect with like-minded individuals who share my passion for advancing sustainability within our industry.
I am keen to absorb the latest industry insights and trends across a diverse range of sustainability themes and delve into discussions and presentations that showcase the forefront of sustainability thinking. Above all, I hope to leave FOOTPRINT+ feeling reinvigorated and inspired to continue pushing the sustainability agenda forward.
