Q&A with Beth Everett, Business Development Manager, Patriarche

Q&A with Beth Everett, Business Development Manager, Patriarche

Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?

Change is not possible if we operate in silos. Bringing together the key players and innovators from the sector to transfer knowledge, test concepts, and engage in difficult conversations, will mean we can collectively tackle the current challenges facing our industry.

What did you hear about / experience at our last year’s event which has made you want to come back?

This will be Patriarche’s first time attending FOOTPRINT+ and we are excited to be a part of it. We’ve heard from numerous industry partners that the previous years have generated a great atmosphere encouraging insightful conversations with engaged audiences. We are going to need this kind of positive energy if we are to really accelerate change within the real estate sector.

When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?

We are really looking forward to hosting our roundtable event ‘Low Cost, Low Energy Housing - What is possible and how do we get there?’. The need for high-quality, low carbon homes is great, and the need is now. We want the session to be an open, collaborative discussion to address and challenge the barriers restricting the UK from meeting its housing targets and explore what innovative solutions can be implemented to make our housing both more affordable and energy efficient.

What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?

In the words of The King of Rock and Roll, ‘a little less conversation, a little more action, please’.  I think the industry is tired of attending events with plenty of talk and grand ideas, but little follow up or action. I hope that FOOTPRINT+ initiates conversations that transpire into the initiatives, policy changes and measures needed to create real, meaningful and urgent change.
