Q&A with Edward Sneddon, Partner, Simten Developments

Q&A with Edward Sneddon, Partner, Simten Developments

Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?

If we genuinely care about what kind of world we pass on to our children and to future generations, it’s critical that both globally and nationally, we get to grips with the climate emergency now. Sadly, there is an absence of real leadership at governmental level, leaving many well-meaning but disparate voices in the industry. Events like FOOTPRINT+, which attempt to coordinate and channel those trying to make a positive difference, need to be encouraged and supported.

What did you hear about / experience at our last year’s event which has made you want to come back?

This is Simten’s first attendance at FOOTPRINT+, but we were attracted by the broad range of attendees and events, all focused on working together towards a common goal.

When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?

We look forward to interacting with others on several levels – learning about new ideas and emerging technologies; exchanging ideas on what current and future best practice should look like; and attempting to build a consensus that as an industry, we shouldn’t be waiting for regulation to drive the necessary changes to the way we carry out our business.

What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?

We look forward to leaving the event brimming with new ideas and a confidence that there are enough people in our industry who feel passionately about the required changes to make a real difference.
