Q&A with James Fry, Founder of Beyond Apartments & Aparthotels

Q&A with James Fry, Founder of Beyond Apartments & Aparthotels

Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?

FOOTPRINT+ provides a unique forum to enable those looking to drive meaningful change in the built environment forward.  We have found it an invaluable event to meet, share and learn from other passionate professionals, who are all pulling in the same direction.

What did you hear about / experience at our last year’s event which has made you want to come back?

We have had a stand at the first two FOOTPRINT+, and as an operator of hospitality sites, we have met companies who provide solutions to both how we design and build future proof assets along with technology solutions to enable us to monitor, manage and maintain our operational impact.  There is no other event that brings together so many well-informed individuals who are open to sharing their knowledge to create better buildings for a brighter future.

When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?

We will be sharing how we can work with owners/developers/investors to help them build low impact buildings that are future proof (not just doing the minimum required today), to enable us to operate Aparthotels and Serviced Apartments in the most efficient way to reduce their energy intensity, water consumption, incorporate a best-in-class supply chain and reduce the toxicity of hospitality spaces to provide a ‘Sustainable Wellness’ solution to both our guests and staff.

What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?

The sophistication of the sector is moving forward rapidly as new solutions are made available and new technology is developed.  We will be looking to meet as many people as we can who can help us achieve our goal of being the leading low impact hospitality provider in the UK and looking to learn from experts in the field about what solutions are available to make this a reality.
