Q&A with Jason Kennedy, Director at SCS Stone

Q&A with Jason Kennedy, Director at SCS Stone

Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?

There is a need for joined up thinking and a sharing of information and identifying opportunities and challenges. This includes efficient resource allocation allowing Informed Decision Making. The integration of sustainability and by sharing information the various sectors can integrate sustainability considerations into their practices and policies.

When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?

Considering factors including the environmental impact, energy efficiency, recyclability, and durability, stone comes out top in the sustainability stakes every time. It is THE most sustainable building material on the planet with carbon content at only 240 kg CO2 e per Cu.m. Stone rainscreen is one of the best ways to reduce a building’s façade contribution to CO2 emissions both embodied and operational.

What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?

This is for us an opportunity to educate about natural stone and its sustainability credentials as well as to be educated about how we as an industry can improve our sustainability practices.
