Q&A with Ranjeet Bhalerao, Founder & CEO, Mortar IO

Q&A with Ranjeet Bhalerao, Founder & CEO, Mortar IO

Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?

One of the greatest challenges in decarbonising real estate is getting all stakeholders on the same page. For example, even sharing data between landlords, consultants and contractors can be a struggle because that data isn’t stored in a collaborative platform. Conferences like Footprint+ help stakeholders to see things from each other’s point of view, and are a starting point for developing more collaborative ways of working.

What did you hear about / experience at our last year’s event which has made you want to come back?

We like this conference because of its specific focus on carbon reduction, and its broad mix of company types. It’s large enough to meet new people and grow your network, while being intimate enough to have honest conversations and not get lost in the crowd.

When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?

We’ll be outlining how building owners can increase asset values by 20%, reduce CAPEX by 30% and unlock millions of pounds of value through retrofits. Specifically, we’ll show how we can use a mixture of landlords own data and open data to build 3D digital models and simulate retrofit opportunities across their entire portfolio.

What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?

We want to meet landlords who are serious about leveraging their building data to plan, manage and execute decarbonisation. We’re also excited to learn about retrofit case studies across the country, while highlighting how AI can rapidly accelerate progress for landlords with large portfolios.  #
