Q&A with Richard Claxton, Business Development Director at RSK

Why is it important that the UK’s property, planning and sustainability sectors come together at FOOTPRINT+?

The significance of this event for the UK's property, planning, and sustainability sectors cannot be overstated. It stands as a critical platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative innovation in these interconnected fields. In an era where individual efforts are no longer sufficient to address the complex environmental challenges of our built environments, the gathering provides an unparalleled opportunity for cross-sector collaboration. It's a place where diverse disciplines and businesses can come together, not just to share insights but to collectively forge the path towards ambitious sustainability targets. This convergence is essential in shaping a sustainable future, making the event a cornerstone for progress in these sectors.

What did you hear about / experience at our last year’s event which has made you want to come back?

Reflecting on our experience from last year's event, which marked our second consecutive attendance, the insights gained were remarkably profound. Despite RSK's position as a leader in sustainable engineering solutions, the breadth and depth of discussions encountered expanded our perspective significantly. The event became a melting pot of innovative ideas and cutting-edge thinking in sustainability, influencing the continuous evolution of our services. The value of these forums lies in their ability to foster an environment of mutual learning and idea-sharing. It is this rich tapestry of knowledge and the opportunity to contribute to the wider conversation that makes us enthusiastic about returning.

When you attend FOOTPRINT+ in May 2024 what will you be sharing with conference delegates, policy makers, your partners, and your industry peers?

For the 2024 event, RSK is gearing up to bring a breadth of expertise, garnered from our extensive network of over 200 businesses. Each of these entities contributes to a vast pool of experience and knowledge in sustainability, environmental and technical fields. Our focus will be on sharing this comprehensive understanding with other delegates, policymakers, and industry peers. We aim to contribute not just facts and figures, but real-world experiences and lessons learned, thereby enriching the collective dialogue. This exchange is crucial for enhancing the overall understanding of sustainability challenges and exploring innovative solutions.

What are you looking to get out of the FOOTPRINT+ event?

Our ambitions for the upcoming gathering are multifaceted. Firstly, we are determined to establish our presence as a forward-thinking leader among businesses that are pioneering rapid advancements in sustainable solutions. Secondly, we view this event as an essential forum for presenting and discussing practical, financially viable solutions to the myriad challenges faced by our clients and the broader business community. Our participation is strategically aimed at both acquiring and disseminating expert knowledge. This exchange is not just about meeting current needs but equipping our clients and ourselves for the future challenges and opportunities in sustainability.
