The headline theme for the UKAA (the UK Apartment Association) Annual Build to Rent Conference and Awards 2023 has been announced. The membership organisation for Build to Rent (BTR) and Single-Family Rental (SFR) in the UK, UKAA is known of its forward-thinking events. This year’s conference will focus on the BTR: the transformative value of investing in homes and communities. 

The 2023 event will take place in the City of London on 2nd November 2023, running from 9am to 5.30 pm, with the conference followed by networking drinks and a lively awards celebration. It will build on the themes of previous Annual Conferences and pledges made in line with the UKAA Manifesto 2023, including UKAA’s focus on excellence in BTR and commitment to EDI and ESG across the sector.

Within the headline theme, the focus will be on four strands: quality; customer and community; investment; and policy and standards. Six keynote sessions and 16 deep dive sessions will explore these topics in full, delivering an outstanding knowledge agenda at the BTR sector’s premier annual event. 

Open to both UKAA member and non-members, the conference is expected to attract upwards of 700 delegates, with over 500 companies represented. More than 20 exhibitors will also be present.

The evening will see UKAA’s annual awards ceremony take place, running from 6.30 pm to 10 pm. The 2023 UKAA Awards will recognise individuals making significant contributions to the BTR sector and outstanding customer experience. There will be a Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising long-standing contribution to the BTR sector, and a Rising Star Award, which will go to an individual who has shown great promise and outstanding development in the sector while still at an earlier stage of their career. 

The evening will also see the presentation of the inaugural Whole Life Costing awards, recognising the rapid rise of environmental criteria in the property sector is having a significant impact on investors investment decisions. Awards will be presented for leadership and innovation in the development phase, supply chain and operations.
