Hazel Joseph

Project Director , AHMM

Since joining AHMM in 2002, Hazel has developed extensive expertise across masterplanning, life sciences, higher education, adaptive re-use, and cultural projects. Leading a dedicated design team, she has played a pivotal role in delivering some of AHMM’s most complex projects, including the Grade II listed Television Centre Masterplan2 Ruskin Square, which is the new headquarters to the UK Home Office, and 2 Television Centre, which has introduced high-spec office, retail and leisure spaces toe White City.

Hazel has a long-standing working relationship with the Barbican Arts Centre, where she has led multi-faceted consultations for over 20 years. She also has key experience in life sciences schemes, leading the Royal Street Masterplan, and in higher education, working with the University of Leeds and Aberystwyth University to transform their campuses.

Hazel is driven to ensure that as a practice we contribute to the communities in which we practice. Within the office she sits on the Partnerships Group which is a team that coordinates and supports AHMM’s charitable and corporate responsibility work.

Beyond the practice, Hazel is has been a specialist judge on various architectural award panels, is a professional Part III Examiner for the Bartlett School of Architecture, and also sits on the Industrial Advisory Board for Engineering and Architectural Design MEng at UCL.
