Malcolm is responsible for managing sustainability across the Asset Management, Private Markets real estate portfolio.  Malcolm is an energy and sustainability professional with over thirty years’ experience.  He has particular expertise in developing low-carbon solutions for existing buildings as well as in energy-efficient design, procurement and the operational performance of buildings.  

Prior to joining L&G Malcolm led the National Energy Foundation’s Technical Team, which was responsible for developing new tools and approaches to improve the energy and environmental performance of buildings. 

Malcolm has worked for consultancies ENVIRON and AECOM, helping to pioneer carbon management programmes.  He has also delivered energy and sustainability programmes in the public sector and spent almost a decade working in the energy supply industry. 

Malcolm is an active participant in the Better Buildings Partnership and is currently the co-chair of the NABERS UK working group.  Malcolm is also a member of task and sector groups for the UK Net Zero Carbon Standard.
