Marie-Louise Schembri
Marie-Louise is an industry thought leader on zero carbon and ESG, contributing to a number of key industry publications and task groups, including the UKGBC, LETI, NLA BBP and CIBSE. In her role as Sustainability Director at Hilson Moran, Marie-Louise leads the business on sustainable planning and design, decarbonisation pathways, circular economy implementation, stakeholder engagement and equality and diversity.
A qualified architect and engineer, she has delivered some of Hilson Moran’s most sustainable projects including a the first registered NABERS UK Design for Performance pioneer project, the biggest and most complex materials passport in the UK, net positive strategies for residential-led masterplans and a number of BREEAM Outstanding developments. She authored the draft Planning Advisory Note for Whole Lifecycle Carbon Optioneering for the City of London Corporation and manages landlord-occupier collaboration for reducing the environmental impact of commercial assets
