Roy has been employed at CST for 35 years and throughout that time they have repurposed and reused steel tubes. Roy was the Works Manager for many years and the MD since 2012. Since 2012 and the advent of CE marking of steel he has been involved in the lobbying and subsequent changes to legislation regarding steel reuse and construction. They were involved with, and sponsored the SCI in producing the Steel reuse Protocol and have also participated in a couple of InnovateUK projects. Roy has been actively involved with promoting Circular Economy in construction through steel reuse and also in pilot projects and case studies through a number of different Associations and Bodies.

Cleveland Steel and Tubes has been trading for 45 years from Thirsk, North Yorkshire. They have always bought “waste” oil field and construction pipes and repurposed them into construction. Over the years they have established an inventory of 80 000T and have developed a number of inhouse processes to improve our repurposing abilities and there customer service offering. CST have lead the market in “green” initiatives foe steel reuse and have supplied a number of projects solely on the carbon credentials. There business is dependent on accurate inventory and reliable and consistent description and testing of materials
